"I am inspired by any art that reflects a gritty work ethic (somewhat transparent in today's world of mass machine production) that is driven by the exacting standards of the artisan - be they Rembrandt or one of my former students (16 years teaching Upper Elementary).

I view the computer as a tool that simulates effects in much the same way as traditional methods and have adopted this medium for its speed, flexibility, and lack of cleanup although I like that messy stuff like clay and paint and do still get my hands dirty when I can.

Although I marvel at diverse works of art from the Great Masters of the Renaissance (Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio specifically) to Norman Rockwell, the handy work of Mother Nature moves me beyond words and I look for every opportunity to spend time in the grand architecture of her boundless amphitheater. I can't sit still when I hear good music - doesn't matter what genre. I have a desire to live a good productive life and am active in church and community."
